This time, we won’t stay in Rovaniemi city but moving further to the North of Finland. Our destination is the city of Kemi, which is known as the last great wilderness of Europe located on side of the Arctic Sea. It is easy to access the city by flight or through rail connections. Besides being the home for one of the rare snow castles in the world, Kemi city is also the home to many historic wooden buildings, Icebreaker Sampo, the Gemstone Gallery, and many beautiful natural parks. Before reaching the Snow castle, we will first head for a Kemi city tour. You will get to know more about the pearl of the Bothnian Sea, its history, attractions and capture your moments there.
After that, we will be heading straight to the highlight of our expedition, which is the Kemi Snow Castle Theme Park. The Castle is just what the name suggests – a hotel shaped like a castle which is made completely out of snow and ice. Visiting the Snow Castle is a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience because of its uniqueness and seasonal existence. Building these castles and maintaining them till the end of each winter requires strategic planning based on the weather conditions, thus, it is literally different every year.
